Some small progress, the first look at the Vickers turrets was a bit of a disappointment, but after a lot of sawing, sanding, filing and drilling out the barrels they look quite allright to me. There is no alternative available anyway.........

Hehe Hanno, welcome in the world of sanding and resin dust. This looks like a very promising start. The Vickers gun in its turret looks so nice. And it is tiny even in scale 1/72!

Thank you for your encourageing words Rui , Christian and Christian ! More progress soon !
@ Christian : There was a lot of flash and the cast is not as sharp as I would have expected, but otherwise the kit is very precise compared to others, for instance
Choroczy Modelbud.....

Hanno, I see now in the photo 15, what you meant in the other thread (De Havilland DH 88 SBS Models Resin Kit). Unexpected work hein?
3 October 2015, 21:46
Hanno Kleinecke
Yep, I wanted the windows flush with the outer hull, so there was no alternative to a bit of extra work.....

I am like a little boy in a sweet shop, going from build to build and there are so many fantastic projects and builds to keep up with, then I find this one. 🙂 👍
Hanno, I am really going to enjoy watching your progress with the MBB mate.
Can I bring beer too. ??
Cheers. 🙂 👍

Welcome to the shipyard Kerry, beer's welcome of course ! 🙂
While waiting for the brunswick green for the DH 88, I did a little masking and work on the exhausts, as well as test positioned the deck equipment. Primer's next !

nice work so far, doesn't seem like the most easy kit to tackle, but you're doing it nice and slow...

Thanks Bart, actually it is not bad , but has it`s challenges....... 🙂

Does this one have the awesome wood deck like your Italian MTB. ?

Nice work in progess. I'm in and looking forward to see the next steps.

Thanks Stefan, take a seat !
@ Kerry: Although the british boats were constructed of wood as well, they didn`t show it, as there were alway painted. I `m trying to figure out what the primer or base colour looked like at the moment, because
obviously these boats were ridden quite hard and looked battered quite a bit. So I will try and let the the basecolour shine through some chipping.

It will be an awesome build I am sure Hanno. Yours always are mate. 🙂 👍

Hi Hanno, yep the boats were hard used but they are most in coastal service what means they were back in harbor nearly every day or night. So maintenance work was common according to the availability of paint etc.
Because of the base color. Hull from 1943 on G45 and white. Deck B15. All surface were painted. No wooden part except it was worn of, but I mentioned that before.
Very nice progress Hanno. The boat looks promising and I'm looking forward to the first coat of paint!

Impressive project. Since I am in. Did you not tell them at the "Stammtisch"?
29 October 2015, 16:37
Hanno Kleinecke
Hi Andre, probably not, maybe I was too "annoyed"😉 because I damaged my Mig 15 along the way to Tomfort..... More probably, I simply forgot it........😉

Die Brücke und Verglasung sehen sehr vielversprechend aus. Der Übergang zwischen dem Klarsichtteil und dem Resin ist dir sehr gut gelungen. (Kein Spalt). Tamiya CA?
29 October 2015, 21:19
Hanno Kleinecke
Vielen Dank Bernhard ! Genau, Tamiya CA war die Lösung.
