My first encounter with Kelik's 3D decals didn't look very promising at the start.
But the final result (using the PVA glue) turned out better than expected.
Take a closer look at the ejection handle - it's printed on both sides! (I put it back to front of the cockpit)
I can only highly recommend this stuff 👍 And didn't even use the whole set 😄

I also plan to do the same using Syhart decals, better than those included in Revell. And the special set for this decoration of MRP paint cans (MRP-207).
If you can find them I recommend them.

@Cuajete: I already have a BilModel paint bought a loooong time ago. If you have Syhart decal (I assume it's the same as Revell's one is printed by them) you need only the brighter orange of the two included in MRP set. The darker one is for those who want to spray the lion themselves.

Łukasz, Shyhart decals are not the same as Revell decals. Shyhart decals reproduce the color effect of this decoration better than Revell decals. I was going to use the decals from the Revell kit, but I was able to get the Shyhart one at a good price (I had already gotten the paints from MRP before). If you don't have Shyhart decals, Revell decals are not that bad. I don't know BilModel's paintings. I'm curious to see the result 👍

In any case I'm sure you'll do a great job as always, 😉

I have only a single bottle of BilModel paint and yes that's the demo orange - seems to be a lacquer luckily (tested using various thinners), so it should work well, fingers crossed.

Nice work. I see that you and I have the same issues with the kit.
The fit on the exhaust isn't great either, you should consider attaching it while you can still fill and sand.

PS. Ugh, it doesn't fit at all indeed - the rear fuselage has round cross-section, while Revells exhaust is not round at all. I think I'll order aftermarket one.

Well, I have to correct myself, after couple of test fits I think I found a way to have it looking good, but yes it's tricky.

I build a f-16d form this tool but a much later boxing. It had a lot of flash but the fit was not bad at all. I did use the f-16c jet exhaust so maybe that one is better.

So I started spraying the BilModel's orange and my goodness - if you thought (like me) that silver/alu shows everything, forget it.
After two layers I can see much more 😄 even the mold release or injection direction 😄
After two layers it got golden, so I'm going to do some corrections, sand/polish the viper a bit and spray it with golden before I start orange again.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how you get the paintwork right. That's what I'm most worried about with my build.

The orange in real is less orange, I might add last layer with few drops of C062 International Orange (FS12197), Hataka Hobby Orange Line Gloss, Acrylic Lacquer, 17ml

It's a set consisting of the bright orange base color and the darker tone for the lion. It's to be used with masks, but if one has a suitable decal, the darker tone isn't needed though.

Alright, got the Hataka's edition last week, mixed it 50/50 with luminous orange and I think this is what I wanted.
The Hataka's demo orange seems identical to BilModel's edition, at least using my set of Eyeballs Mk I

I also started decalling, the decals don't fit everywhere as they should (hope Syhart's set is better), but they react lovely to the Tamiya's softeners.

I did it on purpose, I knew I'll break the dischargers ten thousand times. The stabs have already replacements mounted 😄

I once mislaied a ju-52 fuselage half including interior, never found it. 🙁
I got this Kit: F-16 A Comete (Revell 04317, 1:72) wich I want to build in an scrapyard. So I could build it without canopy. But it's the older tooling, so ther would be a lot of work to make it fit.
