Alec K suggested that we should show some of out early builds, not just the cream of the crop. All my childhood models went to the tip when I was 16 and no photos were ever taken of them, so I have a legitimate excuse for not showing those (phew!). So these are the earliest builds that can own up to. Incidentally, it was January 2015 I started modelling again.
#1 - Tamiya Me 262 with kettenkrad 1/48
So, this is the first plastic model I built after a break of 37 years.
The kettenkrad was the first model really. I decided that if I was trying modelling, I would do it propper. I found a good quality, second-hand compressor, but couldn't wait for it to arrive, so the kettenkrad (as well as the interior of the 262) is brush painted. I was quite pleased with my first attempt at using the airbrush on the exterior of the 262 and generally I was quite pleased with the model. Altogether it took me about two weeks – which I thought was a long time.
#2 – Tamiya Spitfire Mk.I
I was very impressed with the first kit
