October 27, 2014Wheels and suspension are done, and were pretty standard construction. Working on the barrel, turret, and body simultaneously. Using copper wire for hand grabs.2
October 27, 2014The front of the turret had large gaps between the lower and upper halves. These gaps, and gaps between the mantlet cover and turret, were filled and shaped with a slurry of super glue and corn starch.3
October 27, 2014The ring at the end of the barrel wasn't round or even, so I filed it off and replaced it with plastic tube.4
October 27, 2014The filled gaps can barely be seen, but were about 1/16th of an inch wide! The gun still elevates, the filler just made the mantlet/turret connection tighter. Turret texture was re-established by dabbing on super glue.5
October 28, 2014The turret hatches need some work to fit correctly, and to be more accurate.6
November 3, 2014Fuel tanks attached and wired. Whew, what a challenge using the photo-etch and getting everything straight.7
November 7, 2014Added muzzle bolts and enhanced the weld bead.8
November 7, 2014Attached an un-ditching beam.9
November 7, 2014Bits and pieces, like tow-cable hooks, added.10
November 7, 2014Turret details.11
November 7, 2014Wired the lights and horn; added fender hinge flanges using plastic strip.12
November 10, 2014All done!13
