Really interesting aircraft but it seems rather complex to be realized..surely too "hard" for my skills. Good job Hanno ;D

Thanks Christian, let`s see how I this one will turn out......... The kit is quite good though, so I might be able to get something OK out of it... 🙂

Danke Bernd, der Bausartz ist qualitativ recht hochwertig, auch wenn er offenbar ein paar Schwächen in puncto Authentizität hat.

Quite interesting project! I remember reading an article about the He 119 in which a test pilot stated that the engine noise was simply unbearable...
I am looking forward to further steps of this complex looking kit!

@Roland, yes two unsilenced DB 601s clung together, screaming along only about 50 cm behind you - I can imagine that being quite an experience...

Some progress. Cockpit and instrument panels almost ready. Still struggling with the paneling, the dark tempera I used, somehow diffunded into the clear gloss. Left wing has to be painted again. I still havent discovered the right technique for that. Hints are welcome ! So, for the moment I'll have to stop here and wait for the new paint to arrive.

Great subject! I will follow this closely as I have an old Airmodel vac of the 119 - if I can go through my vacuform-fobia 🙂 Great start!

Thank you mates ! 🙂 I will have to redo the left wing because I fouled up the paneling. Once that's fixed, there will be more progress.
@Gabor : I couln't convince myself for the Airmodel kit too, I hope you can overcome your " vacuform - phobia " ( great term b.t.w.😉 )

I have started this kit long ago, but never finished it. Watching your progress brings me memories. It is a very interesting subject, but difficult build, especially due to the transparent parts.

True, the vacu Parts are a bit tricky, lots of dry fitting and sanding. But it is really worth it, I think, she's really beautyful !

Great looking work so far. I didn't realize how large the aircraft was until i saw the pilot seat. What is the stand you are using to hold the kit? I need something like that!

Thanks Gordon ! 🙂 The Stand is made by Tamiya and available almost everywhere :modellbau-koenig.de/..er__i244_17296_0.htm. It is a set consisting of two parts , a large one, and a small one with
adjustable steelwire clamps.

Thank you Roland ! Fitting the clear parts to the fuselage was a bit of an issue..... I´m curiuos how my first parafilm masking of the canopy will turn out when the masks come off, after a slight panelline weathering.

Thanks Andre ! I´m afraid there won`t be much more colour than this, plus a bit more for some of the panellines and the red band on the tailfin. The original was light grey all over, sorry😉

RLM02 grey can wear off, engine exhaust staining is also prominent... the end result does not have to be dull at all😉

Great work Hanno. I love the subject matter and the work you've done. It'll be on my list now. Must've been some kind of noise and vibrations in that cockpit with that shaft running through it.

Thank you all mates, I really apreciate your kind comments on this one!
I scratched the wheelwell doors, and added a tailwheel from an old Revell Me 109 in 1/48, as the original kitpart was way too big.
The overall light grey went a bit too dark in my opinion. As with almost every model I´m still not 100 % happy with some areas, but learning never stops..... 🙂
@ Jens : Jederzeit gerne ! Der Planet Bausatz ist qualitativ sehr gut, und ging ohne größere Herausforderungen zusammen, ist wirklich kein Hexenwerk, einzig die zweiteilige Vacu - Kanzel hat so ihre Tücken...

This has inspired me to have a go at the float plane version, the 119V-5. Flying these things with the pair of 601 V12s behind you... transmission between pilots... sat in that cage... intimidating thought!!

Yes, it's a Planet model. I've found one for sale in USA. I wasn't intending to do propeller planes, I set out to collect and build jets... How did this happen??? 🙂

@ PJ : So you already bought the V5 ? 😛 Can't wait to see you getting started ! Yeah, funny how one gets led astray , when one leads to another,
collecting kits.I hardly can keep myself from buying lots of ancient raceplanes and old German airliners at the moment...

Haha! My stash began with good intentions: 1:72 V Bombers (one set in white, one in camo), and 1:48 fighters (plus a few cars.) I have a friend who collects Cold War jets (1:1!) and I thought I might build his collection at 1:48. Now if you see my stash, you will see the problem... 😛 I may have to do some sea planes as a series to follow the Knights of the Air...! 🙂

Schneider era raceplanes are the utmost in aircraft design for me at the moment, so I´m 100% with you on
seaplanes. Although it might carry you a bit further away from your initial target.....😢
1/1 Jet collection? That sounds really amazing .

A little further Hanno, nothing really to show though. Started on a Mini Cooper idea that's been buzzing around in my head, that and my girlfriend suggested I don't make any more models until I make some boxed shelves to put them in....🙂 she has a point.

Album info
I rediscovered this documentary in my bookshelve rcently.
There are only two kits on the market in 72nd, the other one is a vacu kit,so I went for the resin kit from Planet Models.
The scratchbuilt Cockpit details are inspired by a build by Gerd Busse,
1.PMC Nürnberg, who did a tremendous job on this kit.
Hopefully I can turn out something similar as good.
