nice Lancaster - the clear parts look like sprayed with flat clear?

I know it looks like, but I didn't. It was the first time I used Eduard masks. I've been building models for over 50 years and I thought it time for something new. I dipped the clear parts in Future, let them dry thoroughly, applied the masks, sprayed them with Vallejo model air and there it went wrong. When I removed the masks, the paint came off in some places and somehow the masks left this strange matt finish. Oh yes, I rinsed the parts in a mild detergent and dried them carefully. I have been hesitant to overspray it again with clear an I don't know what else to do. But somehow this kit has been a bit difficult to build. I used Vallejo, but the colours were absolutely not right. Fortunately I discovered they issued new paints, which are marvellous, but I had to respray it. One of the windows came loose and fell inside, so I had to replace it with crystal clear. In fact this kit was the first time that I thought of binning it! And I know the kit is alright, but somewhere I didn't get along with it. But you have good eyes, because you're the first to comment on it. I posted it on Facebook and no comments! But if you have suggestions, please let me know.

Shame about the clear parts spoiling a good build. I've used Eduard masks a few times and never had any problems with them, but I don't use 'Future'. I would be surprised if it reacted with it in some way, I'm sure a lot of people on here use both. Maybe someone else on here has some ideas?

I asked Airfix if they could send me a replacement for the cockpit. In the past they have been very good at this service. But I'm sure there must have been some strange reaction. I've used future before and never had problems. But until I get a replacement, I've sprayed the clear parts with a clear coat and this looks a little better. Otherwise I'll buy another Lanc and donate this one to the garbage bin. Never done that before, but a bad canopy spoils everything. Thanks for you advice, anyway. Much appreciated!

Pity about this! I also use Future and did not experience any problem (except if you use Humbrol Maskol which will make the canopy look like yours).
You could also try a Vacform canopy. Falcon and Squadron offer one but I do not know whether and how they fit this kit as they are probably designed to fit the old Airfix kit.
