nice engine!
25 March 2021, 09:06
Bernhard Schrock
Mr. Master Wirebender! All looks correct especially ignition wires with correct thickness. Watching for more!

Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you mates, welcome aboard !

Erik Leijdens
Great start! That engine is just brilliant 👀
12 April 2021, 18:30
Bernhard Schrock
Nice progress. A lot to do because the are 3 workstations? Brass tube as choke?
P.S. Wie hat mal Spliff gesungen: "da fliegt mir ja das Blech weg". Hoffentlich nicht aber ausm Cockpit🙂
15 April 2021, 14:26
David Funke
nice engine, Sir!
15 April 2021, 19:58
Bernhard Schrock
Excellent cockpit: IMO very good kind of "weathering" the seats. Less is in this case the more. ?

Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you Erik, Bernhard and David!
4 May 2021, 19:12

Picture32: what a great effect and difference to the kit parts. Chapeau!
21 May 2021, 15:22
Bernhard Schrock
Erst jetzt sehe ich dass du die Kontakt Bleche aus einer Steckerleiste verwendet hast. ?
27 May 2021, 11:47
Hanno Kleinecke
Und ich dachte schon ich würde ungeschoren davonkommen.......... 😄

Wonderful build 👍 You know AMS is incurable!
18 June 2021, 12:04
Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you Christian and Bughunter, welcome aboard !🙂 AMS = Addictive modelbuilding Syndrom ? 🙂 🙂 🙂
18 June 2021, 12:12
bughunter
Nearly, I know it as Advanced Modeling Syndrome 😉
Incurable and - on platforms like this - highly contagious!
18 June 2021, 12:19
Hanno Kleinecke
@ Bughunter: I see, superspreading ! 🙂 😉
@ Jonn, thanks for the encouragement, but this time I have, I'm afraid........
18 June 2021, 12:40
HSC1932
I'm stunned at the level of detail
18 June 2021, 13:51
Christian Bruer
Hanno, you are raising the bar a bit higher with this WIP. Very very good work so far.
About the wing fold mechanism, don't give up! You will find a way to deal with it. I found this in Hyper Scale Forum, may it help to find a proper solution.

Hanno Kleinecke
Wow Christian, what a find ! That are by far the best pictures I've seen of the wing folding mechanism, thanks a lot, now I have no excuse anymore…… 🙂
Thank you !
19 June 2021, 16:57
Christian Bruer
For sure no excuse, because we never give up 😄

You're most welcome Hanno. A pleasure to help, also a reason to be here on Scalemates 🙂

Stunner.
23 June 2021, 21:10
Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you Jonn and David ! 🙂
26 June 2021, 09:10
Hanno Kleinecke
Finally capitulated on the folding wing idea, exceeds my skills by far, not enough room for hinges in a realistic depiction. Instead: one wing folded, the other one expanded. Some progress on cowling details.

Hanno Kleinecke
Aluminum dope, blue and yellow on, clearpartmasks off - closing in for the finishing line !
10 August 2021, 19:49
David R. Meizoso
I admire your precission work with the engine wiring, and the cockpit looks fabulous too. I'm intrigued about that "toast" method for canopies. Do you heat the plastic in a bread toaster to conform it?
10 August 2021, 20:20
Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you David, yes indeed, I use a toaster to heat the clear plastic material I hold between two pliers until it softens and slightly slacks, and then pull it over the original part I intend to replicate. After cooling, you can then cut off all the excess . The parts you get might be slightly oversized, as you use the outside shape as template for replication, but in most cases it makes no noticable difference.
11 August 2021, 06:56
Bernhard Schrock
Yellow and blue looks very promising. Hoch soll der Toaster leben, drei mal hoch!🙂
11 August 2021, 07:04
Slavo Hazucha
Blooming up in those vibrant colors 👍 Nice job on the glasshouse pieces too!
11 August 2021, 08:29
David R. Meizoso
Haha, never thought of a toaster in that way! Thanks for the explanation, I'll put it into practice!
11 August 2021, 12:14
Hanno Kleinecke
🙂 you're welcome David, I learned that myself from Bernhard Schrock, very quick and easy way of getting
thin spare clearparts
11 August 2021, 12:23
Hanno Kleinecke
Thanks Bernhard and Slavo !
11 August 2021, 17:16
Robert Podkoński
Fantastic! I simply love these yellow winged machines... And the model itself looks great - ypu are the master of superdetailing, Hanno!
11 August 2021, 17:23
Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you for that big compliment Robert !
11 August 2021, 21:24
Christian Bruer
Excellent progress Hanno 👍
About the self made canopies, what kind of material and material thickness do you use for them?
Happy Modelling, Christian
12 August 2021, 19:46
Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you Cristian, It's a kind of „upcycling" of transparent packaging material, that has already once been deepdrawn into shape (see picture# 50 in the album) .
Thickness in this case is 0,22 mm.
12 August 2021, 21:11
Christian Bruer
You're most weclome Hanno and thank you for the hint about the packaging material.
12 August 2021, 21:15
Hanno Kleinecke
My pleasure ! 🙂

David Taylor
The dogs.
31 August 2021, 15:05
Slavo Hazucha
Fantastic result - perfect balance of all details, top paint-job and I really like how the thin canopy adds scale-impression - combined with the absence of significant weathering, it does not look like a model at all, but really like a well-maintained real airplane 👍

@John - I was not sure: salute or facepalm? 😄 in any case, an excellent way to show the folded wing structure!
31 August 2021, 15:56
Christian Bruer
Very nice and sharp work Hanno 👍
31 August 2021, 16:00
David Funke

31 August 2021, 19:00

Excellent build. I have recently added this kit to my stash and can see it is a big improvement over the old Monogram kit.

Hanno Kleinecke
Thank you Slavo, Christian,David,Jens and James !
31 August 2021, 20:12
Andrew Horton
I love the TBD! Thanks for sharing.
31 August 2021, 21:44
John
Hanno - can you further explain what you did with the canopy? From what I have heard about this kit is that the canopy sections will not stack properly, so it makes having an open canopy nearly impossible. Is this what you also discovered?
1 September 2021, 00:18
Hanno Kleinecke
Thanks Mates !
@ John - that is exactly what I found, so I made alternate parts as described earlier on int his thread ( toaster-method), using packaging material shown in pic#47.
I recommend shortening the bottom of the fire extinguisher mounted between the bombardier's and gunner's seat, to make sure that the two moving parts can be stowed completely underneath the fixed part of the canopy.

At first glance, I thought it looked like Bernhard's home airport. And this model, even though it's visiting, clearly belongs there in terms of quality. Beautiful work! 👏👏👏
