Le Chebec - completed

This is an extremely detailed out-of-production Heller kit from the 1970-80s. It was worked over a number of years. Several accidents, repairs, rebuilds. Kit comes with plastic sails. I used unbleached muslin and made my own. Reef lines on sails are knotted, not glued. Cannon are tied down, not glued. The falconettes have barrels bored out. Standing rigging ends are seized. Masts re-enforced with wood dowels. Model is hand-painted - no air brushing.
Update to the kit - just entered it in the Richmond IPMS "Old Dominion" show. It took 1st place in the surface, sail, or oar class. This was my 1st win at an IPMS show. It has also won 1st place, best ship, and best of show in the Rimrock Plastic Modelers(non IPMS) annual show in 2010 in Montana.
