Thanks everybody. The build and painting was fun and I learned a lot. It was the first time I ever hand painted camouflage and really liked the results (no masking, no raised "lips" along the edges, and no streaks. Using thinned acrylics was like "staining" more than painting. The "ambush" flecks were done with a bamboo skewer serving as a paint brush. However, I'm not very happy with the final results of the weathering. The Tamiya white surface primer I used must not have been thinned enough (does anyone use this stuff?). It left a pretty rough, gritty surface, and when I added a dark wash, it made the finish look too "dirty" in spots. Try as I would, I couldn't fix it to my liking. Oh well, can't win them all. Time for a new project!
