The starting point. Built at least 20 years ago, brushpainted using Humbrol 109.

The engine nacelles are definitely too empty. 

I'm not intending to heavily detail this simple kit, but I don't want the light inside 😉 

Bit of foam should stop it. 

Time for inlets - at first I thought driling and sanding would be enough. 

Then it turned out they are too inaccurate even for my taste. 

So I started scratching this evening. 

The fans come from old F-16 by Revell, never intended to use them there. 

End of phase I. 

In the meantime I keep on filling, sanding and surfacing in moreless subsequent order. 😉 

 

I cut the engine nacelles too far back, basing on a wrong picture, so I need to rebuild them using the meltdown-putty (Thx Thomas once again!) 

And I keep on sanding... 

In the meantime I strengthened the broken undercarriage legs. 

I think I got the front of the nacelles right, after unnecessarily shortening them too much 😉 

Mimicking the wheel bays. 

Seems legit 👍 

Scratched a cockpit simulator 😉 

And added one of Airfix Vampire drivers 😉 

Cockpit sealed. 

Sprayed the base blue today. 

First postshading - too heavy. 

The second layer looks much better and subtle. Decals have been sealed with Liquid Decal Film. 

After few evenings of browsing for PRU blue SAAF Canberra pics I decided to follow this one, even though I'm not entirely sure it's blue (maybe alu?). 

Perhaps not a perfect rendition, but will do 

Finally time for decalling 👍 

 

The original planes seem much cleaner and less used. 

Started the washing, but it seems too dark for me 🙁 

 

Finished. I managed to scratch the nose while mounting the pitot and spent this evening trying to hide it. The thingy behind the windscreen is the driver's lunchbox, you have to aceept that (as I had too 😉 )
