For my friend Maciej:
The 318th Sqn supported the 2nd Polish Army Corps in Italy in 1944-45.
This particular aircraft belonging to Croatian 2 Lovačko Jato was flown to Italy by Lt. Vladimir Sandtner on 16.04.1945 and landed in Falconara.
Transferred to 318th Sqn on 24.04.1945, apparently after being bought for a bottle of bourbon from US airmen 🙂
Belonged to 318th at least until 7.03.1946 - machine has been repainted in RAF camo and markings, it carried also the squadron badge (3 cards) and 'LW' code letters (w/o individual code letter).
The squadron returned all the airplanes on 12.04.1946, probably getting rid of the Messerschmitt around this time as well.

Great! What a bottle of bourbon could do those days. I guess with 3 you got a Me 262? 😉
