Typhoon ZY-Y
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/5/3/8/503538-15547-87-720.jpg)
My second Tiffy! This time with all covers closed. It saves a lot of time, because Airfix indicated which parts not to use for this model.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/5/3/6/503536-15547-76-720.jpg)
It even strikes me more this second time to see how perfect the model is. You could fit many parts without glue!
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/5/3/7/503537-15547-88-720.jpg)
The cockpit under construction.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/5/4/1/503541-15547-74-720.jpg)
The seat in place.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/6/8/5/505685-15547-59-720.jpg)
The first time ever I painted a pilot! My wife painted the other pilots for the big kits and I didn't like to paint figures. But now I've got some for the Mosquito to paint.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/5/4/0/503540-15547-63-720.jpg)
The pilot in command.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/6/8/6/505686-15547-30-720.jpg)
The cockpit with wing spars

The wings beginning to take shape

Guns in place
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/6/9/0/505690-15547-33-720.jpg)
Wingtips added
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/6/8/9/505689-15547-67-720.jpg)
Wings are ready

The cowlings in place
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/6/9/2/505692-15547-43-720.jpg)
The beautiful nose: just a little filling needed
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/3/5/1/508351-15547-38-720.jpg)
A four bladed prop with red spinner this time.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/3/5/2/508352-15547-78-720.jpg)
My first attemp at preshading. Don't know if it works.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/8/6/9/517869-15547-78-720.jpg)
I used the metal rockets from Master.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/8/7/0/517870-15547-57-720.jpg)
The rockets are very good, including the pigtails
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/8/7/1/517871-15547-22-720.jpg)
Lots of perfectly fitting pieces make eight nice rockets
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/8/7/2/517872-15547-57-720.jpg)
The decals were a bit of a problem. Very thin an difficult to apply. Fortunately Master was kind enough to send me two sparesets of decals!
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/8/7/3/517873-15547-97-720.jpg)
Read for the second colour. Unfortunately there is not much to be seen of the preshading, still have to learn a lot. But used blue-tac and this made nice soft edges.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/8/7/4/517874-15547-50-720.jpg)
Masking for the black and white stripes. I covered the whole aircraft, because somehow the paint always ends up in places where it shouldn't! I used aluminiumfoil, because this can very easily be applied, for example in the wheelwells.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/8/7/5/517875-15547-63-720.jpg)
THe first colour is on, now the black.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/8/6/8/517868-15547-62-720.jpg)
And the result: I was very pleased, because there was no overspray and hardly any creeping. On my previous Typhoon it took me hours to correct, but this time it was near perfect. Seems I've learned a bit.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/8/7/6/517876-15547-40-720.jpg)
And now readay for glosscoat and decals. The landing gear and the flaps have been fitted, the canopy sits in placce and only some small details need to be added.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/8/7/7/517877-15547-34-720.jpg)
Stateportrait of this beauty!
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/4/0/2/523402-15547-77-720.jpg)
Almost finished! The beautiful rockets in place and the decals and black and white stripes.
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/1/7/8/525178-15547-26-720.jpg)
The final result
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/1/7/9/525179-15547-83-720.jpg)
Pilot in command
![Album image #29 Album image #29](/albums/img/1/8/0/525180-15547-79-720.jpg)
Brothers in arms. The colours differ a bit. The first time I picked my own Vallejo colours, the second time Vallejo issued a special RAF set and they are better
![Album image #30 Album image #30](/albums/img/1/8/1/525181-15547-67-720.jpg)
Armed and able
