An unexpected surprise!
I bought a portable studio and this gives much better pictures!
A last picture
The ramp door with the machine gun in place
The open door with the fire extinguisher
The final result!
The first decals in place
I bought an extra set of decals by Caracal and although they were printed by Cartograph, they were terrible! The decals for the tail were very crisp and they almost fell apart. Some of the other decals broke when I put them on the plane. But With a lot of trouble, I managed to get the on the kit. Unfortunately, the colour of the decals was quite the same as the paint, so they are not so visible.
I discovered that some of the dark paint from the top had landed on the lower surfaces. So I needed to spray the sides again. To make sure this wouldn't happen again, I covered the whole plane with tape.
View from the front
Ready for the first coat of paint. I decided to try to airbrush it freehand and was quite pleased with the result.
I testfitted the engines and the props and started masking the cockpit. I took me quite some time but when I finally removed the masks, I discovered I had done my work properly. No paint where it shouldn't be! When I had almost finished the model I discovered that I had bought a nice masking set 🙁 Fortunately, I could do someone else a favour with it.
A view in the direction of the cockpit
Because I bought the Black Dog conversionset, I needed to add some extra detail. As the door is open, you can have a look inside. I discovered there is an extra bulkhead behind the cockpit, with some pipelines and a fire extinguisher. On pictures I could see that there is a jumpseat on the cockpitdoor, so I added both.

In a small modelshop in Overloon, my wife discovered this Osprey and bought it for me. And this is the result.
