Just to add; the Academy early has different sized suspension springs for back and front - incorrect but maybe the parts can be swapped out with a mid or late Takom? The academy kit which I have is of the same quality as the Tamiya one which I also have so it's worth getting if you are into Hetzers.

That is a good idea. I have an Academy Hetzer in the mid variant. It is possibly one of the easiest and more accurate kits of the Hetzer out there. About the leaf spring sizes, strictly speaking not all early versions had same size front and back. From what I recall it was possible the change was made later into the early variant production, which carried over to the mid and late versions. If you do make an early hetzer with the same sized leaf springs though, do note they tend to sag in front a bit due to the forward biased weight.
