Revell Kanonenjagdpanzer Prototypes

Album info
Prototype of the upamored Kanonenjagdpanzer. The 90 mm version was a test bed for the additional armor only to enforce the 50 mm thick front and side with additional applique shock mounted armor and side-skirts.
Since the gun was not capable to stand against the recently deployed Soviet T-62 and T-72, the 105 mm gun of the Leopard 1 was tested in another prototype. Combat range could be improved from 1800 to 2500 m plus a better penetration capability.
The conversion starting in 1983 of the Kanonenjagdpanzer to Raketenjagdpanzer made the gun armored version obsolete. The new Raketenjagdpanzer JAGUAR was armored with the HOT with a combat range of up to 4300 m.
I used the Revell Jaguar und KaJaPa kits for the conversions plus 90 mm gun by RB Models and the 105 mm gun by Perfect Scale. Since the kits of the Jaguar and the KaJaPa hulls are not interchangeabel, some grinding and filling was done.
