Christian BruerHallo Acki, wow this was a very nice build of this interesting part of naval history. I thought the Turtle was bigger. In comparison with the scale 1/35 figure it seems to be very small. It must have been claustrophobic inside. Only a job for a small and very courageouse man.

Acki AuthorThanks for your kind comments! @Christian: to me the turtle looks also to small. Somewhere I read something that the turtle was 2 m high. Maybe the size is not correct. I think I will build another turle with a tabletennisball. 🙂

Acki AuthorThanks guys. I forgot to say that the barrel ist real wood. I replaced the plastic cube from the kit and used a barrel from the ship modellers.;)

Acki AuthorIn Lingen werde ich leider nicht sein, wünsche Dir aber Glück bei der Suche nach dem Bausatz. Gemessen am Inhalt ist das einer der teuersten Bausätze, die ich jemals gekauft habe (ca.23€). Der Spaß war es wert. Inwieweit das Modell so ganz korrekt ist, kann wahrscheinlich niemand sagen. Mir ist auch nicht klar, ob Messing-Bullaugen auf Kupfer in Ordnung sind, oder ob hier ein galvanisches Element entsteht. Egal, etwas farbliche Abwechslung ist ok.
