Spitfire 1A

After having finished my two other Spitfires I decided that this old lady needed a bit of restoration. I had a set of decals of the orignal kit and decided to replace the old with the new ones. In 1975 I had no Idea to apply decals properly. But when I started removing the decals, the paint was damaged, so I decided to respray it completely. I did't remove the old brushpainted coates of paint, so you can still see the edges between the two colours, as this was brush painted! But it geives a bit of authenticity to this model. By the way, my wife did the pilot and the cockpit!
To my suprise and pleasure, the 49 yeas old decals still worked fine, as you can see from the other pictures
