The inspiration for this project was the first CS.92 trainer assembled by the Avia factory, with its initial flight on October 1946. Following the end of WW II, Czechoslovakia lost no time in utilizing existing German designs for their new air force, including building 10 "clones" of the Me-262, designated S.92 (single seat) and CS.92 (trainer). With few minor modifications, these were identical to their German counterparts. All S/CS.92s were unarmed, and were used to introduce Czech pilots to jet aircraft. By 1951, they were pulled from service and replaced by Russian Yak-23s.
