Hello,
I am a basic modeller and kit collector.
I apreciate contacts on modelling subjects, as long as not of a competitive kind because I do not enter competitions. I apreciate help on the history of the models I have, history of plastic modelling, tips and tricks to make models better.
I model for the fun and pleasure of the hobby, I do not have the time or the skills to take my hobby to a "professional" level.
My favourite topics are:
Soviet armour, especially pre-1950;
Warsaw Pact armies, especially the NVA of the DDR;
Revolutionary political figures and thematic;
Sailing Ships, specially Portuguese;
Soviet aviation;
Portuguese aviation;
Civil thematic;
Space thematic.
Feel free to contact, specially if you are interested in the same topics as I am.

I consider time (the lack of) and the vicissitudes of life to have been my worst enemies in model building.
I wish I had a better grasp, specially at painting.
I have been modelling since I was a kid, from about 6 years old, to about 13, then I stopped, then I started again at 18-19, then I stoped at about 26, then I started again at 31, but allways (specially in the last two periods) with very little time to make models, due to studying and working.
So I never got to a great perfection of modeling techniques.
I lost most of my models from childhood. I still have a small cardboard box with some damaged models, and another one with finished models from my second period (some with a few damage like lost or broken machine guns).
When I was a kid I did mainly (Heller, Revell) sailing ships (with the help of my father) and also a couple of cars, a T34 tank (1:48 Bandai), a stuka airplane (Roco) and small figures (1:72 Airfix?). Latter, in my second period, I did mainly 1:76 german armour, and some from Soviet Union, UK and USA. I also did 1:35 models, one of them I never got to finish (because I believe I lost the parts when I changed home). Latter I traded my german armour boxed collection for other models, mainly of Soviet Union topic. In more recent times I chose models more carefully and would like to see more models of civilian subjects.
I wish I had the models from my childhood in my collection, and so some of them I am puting on my wish-list, as I remember which ones they are... (for example Airfix Sahara Fort, Bandai T34, Sagres II, Bounty, etc.).
I like old models of obscure brands and find most of big brand modern catalogs a bit boring... although I recognise the very high quality of some of the recent models.
