Exactly 4 months ago my Mk-41 was finished, at least the fuselage. That's how long I've been waiting for Jam Screw's main rotor head. Since yesterday, waiting is now history.
Was it worth the wait, you'll ask? Definitely yes! Considering the content of the 2 boxes, I would have waited another four months!
It is a masterpiece of 3D construction. The depth of detail is unsurpassed and in my opinion cannot be surpassed! As already described in the unboxing of the landing gear, the „preparation" of the 3D model for 3D printing is also an art in itself. This feat JS has masterfully solved.
The „support pillars" are numerous, but so cleverly placed and so fine that it is no problem to prepare the part. There are also no pimples on the surface.
To warm up, I separated the „red", „black" joints, swash plate and lower part of the stern and only took about 20 minutes.
The instructions are exemplary and include more than dozen steps on 6 pages. Absolutely remarkable is the fact that the differences in the three types of blade joints were taken into account with absolute precision.
Will be continued…

As promised the first update.
Take your time to separate the parts and handle them. Everything is very filigree.
As described in the instructions, the 2 x 5 holes in the 2 stars (parts #D and #E) must be carefully adjusted to the diameter of the pins of the parts #K. Here I first used 1.15 mm and finally 1.20 mm drills. Everything holds so together without glue and the 5 parts #K can be aligned. I recommend combining the axle (Part #A) with a brass tube with about 2.15-2.2 mm diameter.
At this point a supplement: there are not three different joints but five! Although I have already built two Sea kings, I was not aware of it: with joints on one side, the hinges have different angles. Will be continued. 🙂
