M3 Lee accidentally drove onto a bridge that couldn't bear the weight. North Carolina, 1941. Tank crew is helping schoolchildren cross the bridge. Wouldn't this be a great diorama!
Faded Tamiya O.D. with buff and clear gloss, thinned heavily, and managed to not obliterate the preshading for a change. Will touch up the spots I missed later. Very happy with the first color coat!
Amazingly, I found a picture of the actual 2nd armored division D-1, which ALSO crashed through a bridge in 1941... well, the excuses for building a diorama are vanishing.

I'm choosing the markings for Tank Number 10, D Company, 2nd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Division. While the Tamiya notes claim this was used in Tunisia, the only pictures I've been able to find with markings like these are in North Carolina exercises, 1941, prior to US entry in WWII.
