Looks great Acki! 👍 👍 I really enjoyed watching your in progress photos and the finished product is great. Factual question: Did they need to fire both toredoes at once, or could they operate with the weight only on one side if only one is fired?

Thanks mates!
@Alan: During my time with the Biber I didn´t get any informations about this. The torpedos were processed for the Biber but I have no idea whether they had to be shot at once or single.

I got curious and did a quick online search and couldn't find any info either. It seems that they were not able to stay at periscope depth and had to fire from the surface. In those conditions, I would imagine it was fire both at once and then try to get away. The loss records show that not many did get away.

Nice Biber, Acki
It seems only logic to get both out simultaniously (or after each other within seconds), If you had found something worth a Torpedo, it was worth a second one. As soon as a torpedo was spotted by a ship it was heathier to be out of sight... so no chance for a second shot.

dunno if there was a damper or such in that contraption but asymmetric load is usually frowned upon <for extended periods that is> for various reasons be it's -tive effect on the handling and performance or some sort of a structural limitation.

Says that both torpedos were fired.
