Finally I managed to finish the old Airfix kit 🙂 Airwaves PE parts and a Falcon canopy were used.

Thanks! Yes, it was not the easiest build but I enjoyed it. Started it before the new Sword Shooting Star was announced, so I had to finish it.

Well, just like the others: your Shooting Star is beautiful.
Are the decals from the box, or did you use some aftermarket stuff?

Thanks for your kind words! @Lionel: Most decals are from the box. Only the stars and bars are from another sheet (Microscale I guess).

Nice to see that airwaves PE parts had improved a lot the cockpit. Even using old (and basic) PE parts you did a great job ! Cheers.

Thanks for your kind comments! From time to time I love to work on an old kit and bring it more or less to current standards. Perhaps that's only because I have so many old kits in my stash and don't know what to do with them if not build them 😄

Beautiful! And very encouraging for me because " because I have so many old kits in my stash and don't know what to do with them if not build them" also is an exact description of my situation...

Wow... fantastic result for this old kit. Are you sure that is not the one in Platz?? 😛
Congrats!

Thanks for all your kind words! I didn't expect to get so much feedback for this old kit. That's great motivation to spend my modelling time on some "vintage" plastic again in the future! However I have to confess that - when a newer kit is available - I tend to take the easy road, too. On the other hand - why buy something "new" that you already have in your stash 😄

I'm with you and Mark. I think it's also more rewarding to bring this oldies to today standarts, than do one new kit OOB.
Great work on this beauty 👍

The "nice" thing is - some modern kits are as demanding as these old gems 😄 For example Sword's Gannet AEW.3 that I'm currently working on. It's a good kit in and of itself. But still much room for improvement.
