March 14, 2025My first attempt at freehand airbrush camouflage. It doesn’t look bad but I am not sure about the soft edges.15

March 16, 2025Starting to apply the decals. I am finding the Tamiya decals slightly tricky. They seem to be thicker than Airfix and more difficult to get off the backing. However, I have learnt that using warm water releases them much more quickly. Several coats of Microsol gets them to conform to panel lines eventually.
Some of the stencils are a bit pointless as they are black text on top of dark blue decals or dark paint.19

March 19, 2025I think this is about done. Tamiya Mk.IV Mosquito 109 Squadron. It didn’t come out too badly. It’s a nice kit. I need to work on my canopy skills. They supply decals for the frame but they don’t adhere well so I ended up painting them with a fine liner brush which was easier. At least I didn’t fog up the canopy.
The carpet monster ate the forward left clear hatch so I need to find one or make one. Nose cone fit could be better but I am overall happy and particularly pleased with the undercarriage.
