Super Marine Spitfire After Removing Masks

My one worry about choosing this subject was masking the camouflage. As a youngster, I never felt that I "got it right", but back in those days, my only option was to brush paint my best approximation of the box art. I never came out even close.

I figured the tricks I've watched others do with photocopying the manual and scaling it to the size of the actual model might be work a try. However, I never shook the fear that was going to come out looking like the ones I did as a teenager.

So when I airbrushed the green this morning, and then took the masks off roughly half an hour later I was very pleased. Is it perfect? NO. Not by a long shot, but this is heads and shoulders above the look I remember getting. Yes, I'll have to do some clean up in a couple of places, but for a first go, this feels pretty good.
