First coats of the paint on the top are down. Also the “tan” parts also look much more tan and less green irl. Definitel...

This is a really terrible kit that was probably pretty awesome when it came out in the 1960's. The wing root fit is horrendous and the detail is lacking everywhere. If you're looking for a good P-40 kit this is not it. If you're looking for a kit that goes together well, this is not it. If you're looking for a good basic kit you can enhance, this is not it.

Considering this kit was tooled in **1964** it is actually a pretty damn good kit. Built MANY of these & other 1/48 Monogram, Aurora & Revell late-50's & mid-60's kits as a kid cutting my teeth in the modelling world. Sure makes me APPRECIATE the WONDERKITS we have today...

I think we basically agree. I'm sure this was a great kit in 1964, but as you say, there are much better options now.

👍 Kits from that era can still be fun to build, if you get them at the right price and they go together fairly well.

Personally, this is the kit that convinced me to stay away from the old molds. I have two old Matchbox kits that I'll build because there's no alternative but after that I'll stick to newer kits 🙂
