According to Spielberger, the A should have no rounded front and a commanders cuppola. So it should be a c-Version, which had already the A, B, C suspension, but no cuppola. It is obviously not an a or b-Version, because this pzkw had different suspension.

Ausf.A is correct.
What you mean is the Ausf.a 1, 2 or 3 which had another suspension.
The only book, which is correct is Panzer Tracks
