Just picked one up at a local hobby store! (What a big price!) What a big kit over 1100 parts oh well it's my birthday real soon so i guess I can treat myself to one.

Somebody told me the kit tires are actually coming from a different Russian 8-wheeled vehicle Trumpeter had released prior. I think MZKT7930. He had 2 Topols in production. Euro Scale Modelling 2022 | Album by StevenVD

While the wheels are derived from the MZKT 7930 chassis vehicle (seeing that Trumpeter does not produce a MZKT 7930 cargo truck but I did one using parts from the Iskandar M and MAZ 7313 cargo truck), the tyres are from the MAZ 7310 chassis vehicle which includes the SCUD M and MAZ 7313.

Looking at this, I wonder if any modelling company will attempt to create a cargo truck or chassis cab model of the MZKT-79221 (the launch vehicle of this kit).

Just pre-ordered one, but I shudder at the cost of all those vinyl tyres that will have to be replaced with weighted resin ones that probably don't exist yet.

Thanks Nigel, I really don't think weighted tyres are needed at all, And if they cost as much as the kit forget it! I'd rather buy another kit than tyres!

I have checked the site of the company Mazhor Models that makes a resin tyre set (you can find this out on the longer version of the R-Modelist review) but it seems this is not published yet. So I understand most will start building out of the box. I'll wait it out a little while, because their tyre also looks different from the kit one. To have the right sag on the vinyl tyres (and there is a certain sag, it's visible on the pictures) it would be enough to remove the bulge so the rim touches the ground.

Oh, look, there's a video review of this kit now on youtube, apparently.

I watched it, but it seems an edited version of Youtube Video. In that film you see the author reviewing the dedicated resin wheels kit from Mazhor Models, which you see only in a glimpse in the Scalemates version. This is a Russian company. Therefore I wonder if such a set would become available at all.
